>> Who we are...

Del Camino Network is a community of local churches who participate as servants in the life of the Kingdom of God in response to Jesus’ radical call to ¨love one another as He has loved us.¨ Image We are connected as friends who are committed to accompanying one another and serving together in what we understand to be our collective mission in Latin America and the Caribbean to work out God’s plan for the restoration of all things. The network is joined as well by pro-church organizations that identify with and form a part of this same spirit of mission.

In the network we see ourselves as being part of a ¨movement¨. We do not seek to become institutionalized. Rather, we hope to develop as stimulated by the Holy Spirit and passionately carry out our mission in such a way that encourages other local churches to serve integrally for God´s Kingdom.

Being part of a network is our response to the teachings of Jesus on love and freedom, valuing the innate dignity of others, and life in community. In this we way we develop our collective mission as one that seeks to transform in all areas of life individuals and society as a whole including the spiritual, socioeconomic, political, cultural and environmental contexts. We believe these transformations are possible as we, the community of faith, live out our mission in the context of the Kingdom life of which we are a part. See values and faith practices below).

We relate to one another in a network or web of relationships because we understand that God´s grace is manifest in diverse ways that are interconnected through His body, the local church. We believe that each community of faith is called to be a blessing to others as a part of her mission. These mutually valuing relationships glorify God as each member is recognized with a gift, that when working together with the other gifts, creates networks of faith in action that persuade others to love and serve in the same manner. Our most powerful message as Christ followers and communities of faith is our practice of love and service to one an-other throughout the network.

We identify ourselves as the network “of the Way” (del Camino), recognizing that since the days of the early church, followers of Jesus have done the same. We identify Jesus as “the Way”, the road that we travel together on throughout our lives. We understand as well that Jesus, as “the Way”, invites us to journey with Him on this road following His options for life, His objectives, His struggles, His cross, but also His resurrection and life in the Kingdom of His Father.

“The Way” also signifies walking in community on the road. Jesus became a part of the life of the communities where He walked and shared the good news of the kingdom from those places. Today we follow Him and become a part of the Road He traveled, in our communities, where He has purposefully placed us to carry out His mission.

We understand we make the road by walking it together. We do not assume to know the exact direction He will lead us. As Del Camino Network, we are part of a movement that shares the road with other communities, and together we be-come the road by following Jesus.

We strive to be sensitive to the needs of the World in which we live and the signs of the times. We are also open to the leadings of the Holy Spirit in order to learn new ways of understanding God´s mission for us and to carry His promises to the excluded and marginalized of our world. Jesus is with us the entire “Way” and we discern His voice in His Holy word and His presence in the cries of the forgotten ones.

Del Camino Network is a place for friends who share a common call and mission. We recognize that at times as we live out our faith and mission we feel alone. Part of our reason for being is to create a community of churches in the mission of the Kingdom, accompanying one another, mentoring one another, and encouraging one another to carry on in our collective mission. We also celebrate our life together in the Kingdom and we enjoy sharing the stories that God writes from our lives as we live out our calling to bring His Kingdom close.

"The fact that the Word became flesh explodes the belief that the spiritual can be separated from the material. Jesus is the Kingdom of God putting on sandals and walking."
